How the calculation works
Expected chats equal website visits multiplied by your engagement percentage. Expected leads equal chats multiplied by your chat-to-lead percentage. Expected sales equal leads multiplied by your lead-to-sale percentage. Contribution equals expected sales multiplied by contribution per sale.
The net scenario difference is contribution minus your baseline monthly contribution minus chatbot and operating costs. ROI divides that difference by the entered cost. With zero cost, ROI is undefined and the calculator says so instead of showing infinity. Fractional leads and sales are expected values, not a promise of part of a transaction.
Choose assumptions you can explain
The default values are illustrative and are not measured customer results or industry averages. Replace them with your own records where available. Use contribution after variable costs rather than gross order value if you want a more realistic business calculation. Include staff effort, maintenance, and any connection costs in operating cost.
The baseline is the contribution from the comparable enquiry process without the chatbot. If you enter zero, the calculator treats all scenario contribution as a difference from zero; that does not prove the chatbot created it. Check campaign and traffic changes before treating a comparison as incremental performance.
Use scenarios before choosing capacity
Run a conservative case and a more optimistic case by changing one assumption at a time. A modest change in lead-to-sale conversion can affect the result even when chat volume stays the same. Do not assume a paid plan raises conversion percentages; capacity and outcome are different decisions.
Keep every amount in the same currency. The currency selector changes the display label, not exchange rates. The calculation remains in your browser and does not send your commercial inputs to an AI provider or save them.
