NLP Chatbot: a practical definition for business teams

An NLP chatbot uses natural language processing to interpret text or speech. The term covers different approaches and does not by itself promise generative answers, a particular model, multilingual quality or operational integrations.

A business example

A visitor asks the same service question with a spelling error or informal phrasing. The assistant should preserve the intended question and answer from approved facts instead of treating a confident interpretation as permission to invent details.

What to check in a real deployment

Test real customer wording, ambiguity and a changed intent. Distinguish understanding a message from knowing the answer. When a question could mean two different services, clarification is safer than choosing one silently.

Apply the definition to a useful customer next step

Write down what the visitor should learn and what happens after the conversation. Check the approved source, optional contact purpose and receiving person responsibilities. A technical label is not evidence that a specific integration, quality guarantee or business result exists.
